This group of folks got together for a vacation of a lifetime. Normandy is a very special place for many reasons, as we have seen. This house is now a very special place for us as well! (Jon Nay)

Army Nurse Corps - 51st Field Hospital - Landed at St. Laurent, Omaha Beach June 12, 1944. Celebrated D-Day 1994 at Colleville Cemetary. A very moving experience. A memorable experience to return to the fields and hedgerows and also the many memorials of WW II in Normandy. Thanks for the great welcome spirit with which you received us. (Ruth Dorsman, Maryland, USA)

We enjoyed the homey-ness of your house, as well as the interesting visits to various cathedrals and museums. It is a vacation we'll be talking about for a long time!
(Hancock Family from Virginia, USA and Burkina Faso, West Africa)

La Porte Rouge was wonderful. Three generations enjoyed playing ball, horseback riding on the beach, etc. We devoured exquisite Norman architecture and food! A successful holiday. (Dimitri and Marianne Barton, California)

The house is great. A lot of charm and a terrific location! We had a wonderful time in Normandy, touring and relaxing. (Mary C. Malin)

A great house, and fantastic area to explore and travel through! We had a wonderful time and even enjoyed the weather (which varied from very frosty to very nice and warm!). (Gloria Scott Drew, Fredericksburg, Virginia)

We had such a great time in your lovely home! We have nothing like it in Colorado! Merci beaucoup! (Rudy and Dick Von Stald)

We had a simply wonderful time at your home and wish it was ours! We did a lot of traveling and enjoyed visiting the surrounding towns. Normandy is very lovely. We would love to come again. It was a great time and place for my family and friends to come! (Anne Delhommeau, Washington D.C.)

What a tremendous week we've had here! Your wonderful farmhouse was the perfect spot for our two families to rendez-vous from Paris and Bern, Switzerland to explore and enjoy the Normandy region again. We visited the D-Day beaches, museums, cemetaries; Bayeux, Mt St Michel, St. Malo, St. Mere Eglise. All with 6 children and beautiful sunshine every single day! Mrs Touzard's superb cooking was most enjoyed as well. Thanks for a great vacation! (Peter and Mildred Secor and Don & Diane Smith)

A wonderful 2 weeks! So much to see, to do. It's especially nice to bring the kids with so much room and a safe environment. And the history: from tapestries to tanks, it's all here! We have all enjoyed it!
(John O'Leary, Chicago and Yaounde, Cameroun)

What a wonderful surprise I had to find that my husband had booked this charming farmhouse for a week's holiday! It was unknown to me until we came up the driveway. Thinking we had come to someone's farm by taking the wrong road - and then discovering my brother-in-law beaming out of the window! Included in the surprise were my two sisters and their families joining us for the holidays! The main reason this surprise was planned was because I celebrated my 40th birthday. It made a wonderful location for a very special day. We noted a play on words: Carentan could alternatively be spelt "quarante ans"! In addition to our celebrations we thoroughly enjoyed the area and all the varying activities it offers. From tapestries to cheese making and cathedrals! Your facilities are ideal for large families with lots of children, a great time we all had. Thank you for making it possible! (Vanessa Freitz, Paris)

Party of 12 Danes and Americans have had a splendid stay. Wonderful local seafood, cheese, wines and calvados! The farm was perfect for our group, very cozy. (June 1998)

The Ferris families were here for 2 weeks with cousins. We spent most of our time sightseeing Cherbourg, Mt St. Michel, the D-Day beaches and the rest of our time eating and sleeping, game playing, bike riding and resting! The house was very comfortable and we found everything we needed here and in town.
(the Ferris, North Carolina)

Michele, Thank You. La Porte Rouge has been ever as you promised and has well served the many guests who have come to join me from England and America during this month of deliciously cool weather in the heart of summer! (John Harbert, McLean, Virginia)

We arrived tired but awestruck after our long drive from Frankfurt, with our good friends. Our 6 children and 6 adult entourage has loved every minute of our stay. We have learned much about the D-Day landings inspiring us all to learn even more. The days we stayed at home in La Porte Rouge were just as enjoyable. Once the children all had boots they were picking berries, running around and enjoying the French countryside. This will truly be a vacation to remember! (Deb. Rowe)

Ah, La Porte Rouge! It was a splendid place! I have so enjoyed the ambiance, the gracious atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings. It is the perfect location: the beaches and countryside of Normandy. I look forward to my return. (Phyllis Duffy Zala with the Persily Group)

This has indeed been a memorable week. A fine combination of natural beauty and history. Thank you for the love and care you have shown in restoring the beautiful La Porte Rouge. (Art and Bownie Benson)

We enjoyed everything: the farmhouse, the countryside and the charming and kind people in Normandy! We leave here refreshed and relaxed but regretting our stay is not longer. We hope to return again to your beautiful La Porte Rouge! (Dianne Collins and Dick Harmrick, Atlanta, Georgia)
