Enjoy Normandy in style, comfort and tranquility with all the amenities included in this secluded early 18th-Century farmhouse. Only three and a half hours from Paris, near the D-Day beaches, Mont-Saint-Michel and the Bayeux tapestry, you will find La Porte Rouge the perfect refuge to discover this charming region of France.

Located near the village of Auvers, 5km from Carentan, at the base of the Cotentin Peninsula, La Porte Rouge is a large restored early-18th Century farmhouse estate (which once belonged to the Comtesse d'Auvers). At the end of a quiet country road and surrounded by landscaped grounds, gardens and fields, the main house is a fully-furnished two-story structure, with six bedrooms and three modern full bathrooms, forming one side of the traditional four-sided Norman farmhouse around a large central courtyard.

La Porte Rouge is available for weekly rental year round. It has the capacity to sleep 12 people (ten twin beds and one queen-sized bed). Madame Touzard is available to prepare wonderful Norman cuisine upon request. View pictures of the house and grounds, and read what previous guests have to say about their experiences.

La Porte Rouge is our family home. It was given to my grandparents as their dowry in 1929 by their parents. My mother was raised there and, as a child, I visited my grandparents every other Sunday, spending endless festive meals around the table with my many aunts, uncles and cousins!

My husband and I were fortunate to purchase it in 1984 and, after extensive renovations, electricity and plumbing upgrades, we are happy to share it with you. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do!
